SOUNDTRACK OF THE DAY- HOOVERPHONIC - AMALFI

This song “Amalfi” by the Belgian rop/pop group Hooverphonic is on constant repeat on my iTunes right now.

Hooverphonic was known as trip hop group during the 90’s and you probably familiar with some of their songs because their appeared in a lot TV shows like CSI, Cold Case, Third Watch and films Like “ I know What You Did Last Summer” and “Stealing Beauty”.

“Amalfi” is the latest single and a new sound from Hooverphonic. The song is more of a pop and vocals than electronic.

CHANEL MEN'S PRE-FALL 2014 - METIERS D'ART PARIS-DALLAS

Here are some selected menswear Karl Lagerfeld presented in his CHANEL's pre-fall 2014 "Metiers d'art Paris-Dallas" show.  The collection looks like Texan fashion through the eyes of a Parisian.  It's an homage to the time when Coco Chanel accompanied by a delegation of 125 people from France – landed on October 14th at the Dallas airport. Stanley Marcus, co-founder of the Neiman Marcus store, awarded her with the Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion, the "Oscar of Fashion". That year, the Chanel is the only winner among the 300 fashion designers invited, an indication of the importance she holds in the hearts of Americans. During her twelve-day Texan journey, Gabrielle Chanel dazzles the crowd to the point that Time Magazine reports the event by titling it "Dallas in Wonderland".

The male models  who were on the show Edward Wilding, Marlon Texiera (my favourite Brazilian model), Jake Davies, Brad Koenig and his son Hudson, and Sebastion Jondeau.

CARTIER - LE STYLE ET L’HISTOIRE

An unprecedented retrospective organised by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux-Grand Palais, the Cartier. Le style et l’histoire exhibition is a celebration of Cartier style and an expression of cultural recognition that affirms Cartier’s place in the world of decorative arts.

Since 1983, the Cartier Collection has been presented in 25 exhibitions at numerous cultural institutions worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the British Museum in London, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon and the Palace Museum in Beijing’s Forbidden City.

From 4 December to 16 February 2014, this creative heritage will be on display at the Grand Palais in Paris, offering a testament to the Maison’s style and craftsmanship. More than 600 creations have been selected: high jewellery pieces, mystery clocks, watches and precious objects will be exhibited alongside private loans on show for the very first time.

Archive material and abundant documentation accompany the exhibition’s content. Designed to place the creations within the wider perspective of evolutions in taste, the decorative arts and art in general, this exhibition also offers a reading of Cartier style in the context of social developments that have occurred over more than a century of creation.

On the occasion of the seventh edition of Uzbekistan's Art Week Style, the Florentine maison of luxury menswear has been invited as guest of honor to showcase its collection in Tashkent on October 25th 2013. Inspired by the circus' atmosphere, that has always been a worldwide point of reference for literature and visual arts, the STEFANO RICCI fashion show featured eleven thematic outfits interpreted in different artistic settings. "The choice of this unique location has been dictated by two missions - said Filippo Ricci, Creative Director of the STEFANO RICCI company - on the one hand, to face a new challenge in a whole new scenery, capable of transmitting magical emotions; on the other hand, to honour the memory of Federico Fellini, one of the greatest Italian directors, much praised by the world and particularly in Eastern Europe."

DSQUARED2 LAUNCHES SNOWBOARD COLLECTION

Dsquared² launches its first snowboard collection in collaboration with Rough, the leading brand in the boardsports market. “We’re Canadian and we’ve always loved winter sports. We’ve discovered snowboarding and there’s nothing more exciting than riding over the snow, it’s a sport we’re passionate about,” said Dean and Dan Caten.

The new collection, featuring one adult design and one children’s design in diverse sizes, will debut as a preview at the beginning of December in Dsquared²’s new flagship in St. Moritz, and from fall-winter 2014, the collection will be available in all Dsquared² stores.

The Dsquared² Rough collection is designed for allround/freerides. Built with modern techniques, the snowboards are built for ease of use, fun and performance in every snowboarding situation. Bamboo sidewall, hemp fiber, a total woodcore and sintered base are some of the materials used to construct the snowboards. The materials work together with a board shape especially designed for Dsquared² to guarantee the maximum joy riding on the best snowboard runs in the world. The adult line (men/women’s) is subdivided in five sizes, while the children’s collection features two sizes for children aged between 4 and 8. The snowboard’s elegant and clean graphics were designed especially by Dan and Dean.

The adults snowboard features a topsheet with a black background and double white logo contrasting against a red maple leaf. The base reveals a pattern of red and black tartan.

The children’s snowboard design features a modern hued camouflage of beige, military greeen and vivid coral, with an oversized logo printed on the base. The children’s snowboard is created with a solid construction that is simple and efficient: ideal for a young rider to express his or herself on. Total woodcore, abs sibewall, diecut base and super soft flex make this snowboard an ultra fun winter instrument for Dsquared²’s youngest fans

ROUGH snowboards was founded in 2005, by three riders of the 90’s, and is to this day managed by those same snowboarders, that currently keep on snowboarding and living the mountain and the snowboarding scene. The brand was born from the idea that these people had about creating a more human, down to earth and without too many frills brand, producing high quality boards that could satisfy the real needs of the riders.
