Glass artist K. William LeQuier uniquely conveys the raw emotion of a single moment in time with each of his sculptures. The fluid movement of the glass and the complexity of layered intersecting lines are evocative of both the harmony and the random forces found in nature.
Inspired by the diversity of form and color of undersea creatures, many of these works were reminiscent of sea urchins, sponges, anemones and their environments. His works are an appreciation of the strength and serendipity of nature.
LeQuier transforms glass to stunning organic figures with movement and emotion. Free flowing strands of carved glass are laminated with other layers to create depth and a complexity of intersecting lines. These sculptures of fluid motion vividly represent a momentary event in nature.
He states that he is inspired by the drama of everyday events in the natural world where weather and time are catalysts for change.
