Known as one of leaders in avant-garde fashion whose amazing talent fascinated and challenged our perception on proportion, construction and gender based clothing, Yohji Yamamoto has produced a documentary titled “This Is My Dream”. The film documents the innovative and legendary designer’s method of work and daily life.
“This is my Dream” is directed by Theo Stanley who shadowed the always mysterious Japanese designer. The film’s trailer begins with a very personal quote from the amazing designer, “For my total life, I am comfortable being in black, not in the light. I was born in Tokyo, after bombs. So maybe this is my root, a ruined Tokyo. This dark side of the life is attractive for me, forever.”
