NEW YORK TIMES PRESENT- THE DESIGN PROCESS OF JOSEPH ALTUZARRA BY RUTH LA PERLA

I always find it interesting to learn the working process any artist.  New York Times did a nice interview of the one hottest new designer Joseph Altuzzara.
NY TIMES - "Another Season, Another" Show by Ruth La Perla

"Mr. Altuzarra, 27, is one of the fortunate ones. Since mounting his first show in winter of 2009, he has been lionized, and scrutinized, by a novelty-famished fashion community. His dark, feline good looks, striking candor and deft hand with a seam have captivated not only industry heavyweights but an oddly assorted clientele that includes the socialite Lauren Santo Domingo, the pop stars Rihanna and Mary J. Blige, and Carine Roitfeld, the recently decamped editor of Paris Vogue, all eager to embrace him as fashion’s Next New Thing....

"...The fashion world can be indulgent, he knows, though he does not count on that. “I’m comfortable with the idea that I’m the flavor of the moment and that in a couple of years people might not think I’m cool anymore.”.........

"..He may talk a brash line, but Mr. Altuzarra can be surprisingly thin-skinned. “I don’t read blogs anymore,” he said. Those postings, mostly anonymous, “can be really cruel. Do I want to read, ‘I don’t get the hype about this guy,’ or, ‘This is the ugliest collection I have ever seen’? For me to say I don’t care would be hypocritical. I do care.” ""
