BERLIN FASHION WEEK - MEN'S FALL/WINTER 2009/2010

Best known for its music, art and club culture the city of Berlin is becoming one great place for fashion too. Twice a year, the city holds Berlin Fashion Week (BFW). Their fall/winter presentation was held from January 28 to Feb 01. The highlight of the 2009 BFW were the shows involved in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin that took place in the historical heart of the city on Bebelplatz. Other BFW staples are PREMIUM fashion fair that take place in a former postal freight train station called THE STATION in Berlin-Kreuzberg, the projektGALERIE Showrooms on Torstrasse and the Showroom Mile in Berlin-Mitte, which is open to the general public.

KILLINA KERNER

Cologne born and raised designer Kilian Kerner presented my favourite collection in Berlin fashion week. His show really has a distinct point of view on men’s wear. I love the whole outfit on photo no.1 & 2 .

His AW 09/10 collection, "Good night my lovely," („gute nacht, du wunderschöne(r),") is about elegantly jousting through life. The menswear collection was highlighted by use of checked materials in dark shades from grey and black to blue and green. The concept "fashion and music" has been ongoing theme for his collection. The Berlin band Splinter X has produced a song according to the sensitive subject surrounding the collection.
