Milan Men Spring/Summer 2009 Round Up

Summer just started and Milan already finished showing the Men’s Spring/Summer 2009. Fashion really moves in accelerated speed. The good thing though, you will get an idea what you could keep in your current summer outfits for next year. So here are the top trends in Milan Men’s Spring/Summer 2009.

CHEST

If you haven’t started pumping weights for this summer, you should start now for next year. For Spring/summer 2009 designers showed long and deep plunging neckline either scoop neck or V-neck. The new erogenous zone is Pecs. So start doing bench presses now and push ups so you will be ready to show off your chest by next spring and summer.

PAJAMA
Whether it’s the reaction on the economy or just a craving for sensual, relaxed and languid luxury designers showed a lot of pajamas on the runway. Personally I haven’t worn a pajama in ages so I don’t know if going to jump on this trend. Not to mention I’m afraid how it’s going to look like when this watered down to the masses. I think it only works when it paired by a tailored jacket

MINIMALISM
Designers showcase minimalist clothes for spring/summer 2009. Whether it a skinny razor sharp tailoring from Raf Simons or boxer shape from Marni and Calvin Klein all the clothes are very simple, elegant and pure, a true characteristics of a Minimalist.

PRINTS
Prints and pattern are everywhere for 2009 spring and summer in Milan, from jackets to shoes nothing was sacred. Burberry showed raindrop prints that still look rock & roll. Steffano & Dominico put oriental prints on silk blazer for ease sophistication on their Dolce and Gabbana label while they put nautical prints on D&G label for an Americana effect. Frida Gianini of Gucci put flora and fauna prints and embroidery to jackets and even shoes to give youthful energy to her clothes. East meets west for Etro’s spring/summer 2009 with paisley and brocade patterns on all the clothes.

Thanks for the impressive overview! I noticed a minor mistake though: you misspelled a designers name. It should be Dries Van Noten (with an N not M). http://www.driesvannoten.be :-)
