R.I.P. EIKO ISHIOKA
Eiko Ishioka, the multi-talented designer and award winner died on Saturday in Tokyo at the age of 73. The cause was pancreatic cancer. I’m a great fan of her magnificent works.
Here is a post I did about her a few years ago. "THE WONDERFUL WORKS OF EIKO ISHIOKA"

RENE GURSKOV FALL/WINTER 2012-2013
Here’s the fall/winter 2012-2013 collection of the avan-garde menswear designer Rene Gurskov. latest collection titled "Little Monster”, which he said is all about being unconditionally loved young rebel.
Gurskov created varieties of one of a kind pieces for this collection. His signature oversize tees and sweats are still present. He mixed and blocked different quirky prints inspired by horror movies images.
He said each piece in the collection can be easily mixed and matched with others.

SOUNDTRACK OF THE DAY: "BIG MOUTH" BY SANTOGOLD & "IMA READ" BY ZEBRA KATZ (FT. NJENA REDD FOXX)
This is my two current favourite songs.
1) "BIG MOUTH" - SANTIGOLD
2) "IMA READ"- ZEBRA KATZ FT. NJENA REDD FOXX
Less is more. I love this minimalist hip-hop song “Ima Read” by Zebra Katz featuring Njena Redd Foxx. The song and the video are very haunting. The stripped- down track with nothing more than repeated bass drum and echoing words are so damn catchy. I swear I have been singing constantly “IMA READ, IMA READ, IMA READ”.

1) "BIG MOUTH" - SANTIGOLD
Santigold has released “Big Mouth” as the first single on her sophomore album “Master of My Make Believe”. “Big Mouth” is a very fun clubby song that mixed marimba and talko drums. The video is directed by Cody Critcheloe. The song is call out to those bubble-gum pop songs. I think there’s a part in the song were she dissed Lady Gaga (just looked at the part where there’s blonde mermaid appeared briefly on the video). Also I think the look of the video was inspired by Keith Haring and Stephen Sprouse.

BOTTEGA VENETA'S MEN'S FALL/WINTER 2012-2013
Designer Tomas Maier of Bottega Veneta went rock n' roll for fall/winter 2012-2013. He used geometric colour blocking all through out the collection. He also mixed materials; wool with rubber, velvet with cashmere. The silhouette is lean, from skinny ties to legging-like tight trousers. Bottega Veneta also offerd a lot of leather pants for this season. The whole vibe is all about being young and rich.
SALVATORE FERRAGAMO'S MEN'S FALL/WINTER 2012-2013
For fall/winter 2012-2013 s designer Massimiliano Giornetti's of Salvatore Ferragamo has focused his collection to 9 to 5ers working clothes. Elegant and sharp suits and coats were dominant pieces. Luxurious fabrics like velvets (which almost in every collection in Milan) and moiré silks were mixed with salt-and-pepper tweeds and specked wools. It is interesting to see that Ferragamo also has their own version of two-tone shoes. Two-tone shoes were all over Milan show this season too.

ERMANNO SCERVINO'S FALL/WINTER 2012-2013
Ermanno Scervino menswear is known for its impeccable tailoring and very polished sportswear. This season the designer continued the same route and presented a lot of immaculate structured double breasted coats and slim fitting trousers. Just check out the back of gray double breasted coat on look no. 22. It’s amazing how that coat draped beautifully and really showcased that model’s butt. Also I want to get that knitted sweater worn by Paolo Roldan on look no. 8. Checkered pattern such as Prince of Wales coats, argyle sweaters, houndstooth coats and micro-checkered blazer were used mostly throughout the whole collection.
Ermanno Scervino always cast my favourite models. Top Brazilian model Marlon Teixeira opened and closed the show.

CORNELIANI'S MEN'S FALL/WINTER 2012-2013
Corneliani fall/winter 2012-2013 collection is all about the modern Don Juan. The collection is mostly tailored clothes in lush cashmere in different shades of gray. The knitted sweaters with animal prints added some whimsy. The all untra bright white outfit on blonde model that closed the show looks like a hybrid of Great Gatsby and Gattaca.
